Today i have finally decided to write something about HOW TO ROOT TECNO CAMON C8 , Before i proceed let me use this moment to apologize to all Tecno Camon C8 fans that felt embarrassed about my blog post on Why They Shouldn’t buy the Tecno Camon C8.

How to Root Tecno Camon C8

Tecno camon c8 was one of the best selling phones for 2015. It’s a camera-centric smartphone that has captured the attention of camera lovers in Nigeria. But one aspect many users are finding difficult to do is the ability to root the phone

The Tecno Camon C8 is very stubborn device when it comes to rooting, because the popular and easiest apps such as Kingroot, Vroot, Framaroot, Tecnoroot, Rootgenius etc., are not working for it. Rooting the Camon C8 has not been very easy simply because its a 64bit MTK Device. The below tutorial will guide the Tecno Camon C8 users to Root their Smartphone.

NOTICE : After rooting your phone, it’s advisable to unroot before performing an OTA update or restoring factoring settings.

Materials Needed For Rooting
» PC with internet connection
» USB Cable
» SP Flash Tool – Download it from Here
» SuperSU.zip – Download it Here
»  TWRP for Tecno C8 by Team Hovatek – Download it Here
» Save the SuperSU.zip that you downloaded to your phone’s SD card
» Unzip the TWRP zip file that you downloaded and flash the recovery image to the phone using SP Flash Tool

HOW TO FLASH RECOVERY ON TECNO CAMON C8  :

Figure 1 from the picture above means you click on it to load and locate the scatter file from where you extracted the TWRP RECOVERY FOR CAMON C8 by Team Hovatek.

Figure 2, this should be assigned by default but make sure its “Download Only” that’s selected.

Figure 3, Make sure only “recovery” is ticked

Figure 4, At this stage you need to switch off your phone make sure you have copied the SUPERSU.ZIP to your SD Card. With your phone turned off press “Download” and connect your phone via the USB Cable to your pc a green mark with “Download Ok” should appear. You can now eject your phone.

Now, boot your phone into TWRP Recovery Mode (by Holding the Vol Up and Power button simultaneously for 5 seconds)

In TWRP Recovery, Choose install zip from SD card – to choose a zip from SD card use Vol up and down scroll up and down (You can also select by calibrating the phone screen) then choose the Supersu.zip file from the root of your SD card.
Scroll to yes and install, after a successful flashing go back and reboot.

Now your Tecno Camon C8 is ROOTED !!! You can download RootChecker from Google Playstore to confirm.
