Opera Launches Android Ad-Blocker

Opera just announced that there is now a built-in ad-blocker in its Android Opera Mini Browser. Before the mobile browser ad-blocker, Opera was the first to integrate an ad-blocker into its desktop app. Last month, Opera also announced a free VPN with its desktop and said that they would launch a free VPN for mobile soon.

Opera CEO, Lars Boilesen says, “Opera is the first browser company to offer a native ad blocker across devices. We do this because we want to provide people with the fastest browsers in the market. Our speed test shows that online ads slow down the browsing experience.

Now, with Opera, you can browse a lot faster than, for example, in Chrome.” Opera Mini is reported to be 40% faster by blocking ads, & reduces the data consumption for loading a page by around 14%.

This new development also has a detrimental effect on webmasters who use ads to generate funds from there websites as Opera is one of the widely used browsers on Mobile devices across every platform around the world.
