After a long wait and lots of voluntary testers on the Infinix X-Club,  Note 2 finally get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update and the most interesting part is you can download and install it via OTA you don’t need a PC like the Infinix Hot Note Lollipop Update that requires a computer and lots of other requirements.

There are two ways to update the Infinix Note 2 X600 to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, you can use a Computer and flash via SP FlashTool or you can just download and install the OTA Update straight from your phone. I will show you how to update it via either OTA or PC.

 

HOW TO DOWNLOAD/UPDATE INIFINX NOTE 2 VIA OTA

NOTE : If you’re rooted this is the time you need to Unroot your device and avoid heart touching stories of how your lovely device rest in peace.

Turn on your Data Connection and make sure you’re using 3G or 4G LTE depends on the one available in your location.

Enter your phone menu locate “System Update”  it should automatically check for updates.

Untick “WiFi Only” except you’re downloading via WiFi connection.

Now click “Download” and it should begin just like the picture below.

The OTA download is around 716MB and its resumable so you don’t need to be bothered about disconnecting.

 

HOW TO UPGRADE INFINIX NOTE 2 TO ANDROID 6.0 MARSHMALLOW

Updating via PC is quite stressful but simple if you follow my guide carefully. Before we proceed i hope you have installed MTK Preloader Drivers and have SP FLASHTOOL V5 don’t forget to turn off your Antivirus  software. This method will erase your Internal Storage and you will loose your files, please make a backup before you proceed.

You need to download the right firmware for your phone variant.

Download:

X600-H533-A1 – 16GB + 2GB:-

X600-H532-A1 – 16GB + 1GB:-

X600-H533-B1 – 16GB + 2GB:-

Download Here

Flashing the wrong firmware on your Note 2 will kill the phone

Extract the downloaded update on your computer

Extract SP Flash Tool and open Flashtool.exe

From the image above, Clicking figure 1 will require you to locate the “Android Scatter File” for the Note 2. Its located in the extracted firmware you downloaded

Figure 2, default will be “Download Only” change it to “Firmware Upgrade”

Figure 3, Eject your Note 2 from the computer and turn it off. Click “Download” and reconnect the phone to your computer

Update should start automatically

Do not interrupt the whole flashing procedure, just seat back and let it do it’s magic

You should get a green mark labelled “Download Ok” now you can eject your phone and power it up

Set up your newly upgraded phone and enjoy Android 6.0 on Infinix Note 2 X600

Conclusion, the Infinix Note 2 X600 Marshmallow update was reported to have lot of bugs and this is why the Infinix Developers need your help to give Note2 X600 XUI Bugs Feedback/Suggestions on there forum.
