We all know the situations of electricity in Nigeria. The Tecno Camon C8 comes with a small 3000 mAh Li-ion Battery, you might think this battery is enough but i assure you its too small for the Nigeria Electricity condition. I still find myself managing my Infinix Hot Note Pro 4000 mAh Battery you can just imagine how bad this could be. Alot of people might say the battery is 3k because they dont want it to be heavy and bulky, tell them to check out the Infinix Ho Note with 4k battery and it still comes with a sleek portable and awesome design. How can you enjoy a device the camera with this kind of battery if you are in a occassion taking shots for 5 hours?
- OTA UPDATE :
NO OTA UPDATE FOR TECNO CAMON C8
Till this moment am yet to see or hear a Tecno device that ever receives an OTA UPDATE or any kind of Update. What kind of company doesn’t release updates for their devices but releases a similar device with similar design and name but with a new OS. You might not get what am saying but i will give you a clear Example. Tecno P5 was released some years ago with 512MB RAM/2GB ROM running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean a year later Tecno released Tecno P5+ which comes with the then latest Android 4.4 OS and 1GBRAM/8GB ROM the price is also similar to that of the Tecno P5. Why should you buy a device that doesn’t have future plans for her customers but will rather exploit you by releasing new devices and forcing you to sell or dash out your device to get a new one for one reason or the other. Infinix released Android 5.1 updates for theit Hot Note, Zero 2 Devices and the future seems bright for more upcoming updates probably Android MarshMallow 6.0
- INTERNAL STORAGE :
Tecno said the Camon C8 is specially made for taking shots. Truly its meant for shooting and snapping awesome , colorful pictures but have you ever asked how large the size of this pictures are? They come in mind blowing sizes like 2MB,3MB but with good quality. Do you think 16GB is enough? Camon C8 is meant for taking pictures and recording lovely moments but how long will a 16GB INTERNAL STORAGE MEMORY last. I think the storage memory is too Tecno should have made it 32GB. - RAM :

Do you know Tecno Camon C8 comes with 1 GB RAM and carries a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz. Well i dont know about you but i think 1GB RAM is too small for a device with so much attention as the Tecno Camon C8 also the speed and processor makes it look like a device meant for kids, the Infinix Hot Note comes with a 1 GB Ram and it uses a Octa-Core Processor clocked at 1.4 GHz. Also the price is too much for this low end specification Tecno device.
- LACK OF USER COMMUNITY :

You might have heard about X-Club, This is the Infinix Community for their users and this is how they help consumers overcome their after market issues by creating a thread in the Forum and people are free to contribute to the discussions. This also brings about third party development such as Custom Roms, Rooting Exploit, Custom Recovery, Firmwares and so many more. A lot of people have been finding it hard to root their newly bought Tecno Camon C8 . Imagine if their is a Tecno community their consumers wont be migrating to Infinix and other top brands.

tecno should improve their after sales customer service,
imagine my 3 month old tecno P9(when it reign) when the camera first stopped working. I took it to their store at Allen in Ikeja. but to my greatest surprise after dropping the phone with them for 1 week,
they end up telling me “we do not have accessory to fix the phone” the question is if you don’t have accessory is it my fault . don’t they know what it means to say there’s warrant on a product?
my brother’s G9 the battery is currently swelling he was at their office the same story of “no accessory”
currently , my F7 despite the fact that I have uninstall almost all my applications, yet the problem is always “not enough memory,

Been using this device for two months now and I must say. from it’s price this phone really delivers. I can charge it once a day and I love the screen display and not to mention its size is awesome. Well it’s not easy to sit down and note down one’s findings. As a matter of fact it’s not easy to criticize.
Well done sire. But please I will like to let you know that aside the ram, your review is almost incorrect. Sometimes it’s proper to review a phone using the device itself. I am a c8 user and have upgraded my device. I did so on my p9. I use this device 2+ days without 3g. So I think you need to handle this device yourself. What I don’t like is the ram size and I think tecno should watch out for their next devices (though the price of the device complements the memory size). As far as am concerned this device is awesome at its price.

I agree Tecno have problems, in fact they actually begin when you post wrong specs. Pls take care to only write reviews after using the phone for a considerable time. I use Tecno c8 and I have received and successfully installed an OTA.
For it’s range, apart from the ram, it’s simply awesome, I use hotspot 24/7 battery no problem at all, intervals between charges sometimes may reach 36 hours in spite of connectivity.

My own tecno camon c8 has just been hanging for long periods, especially when I try to open two or more apps at a time (multitasking). After it returned to its home screen I decided to put it off. Later when I tried putting it on, the phone just wouldn’t come on! I am at a loss what to do because the phone was fully charged and it has never fallen down since I bought it about one week ago now. I bought it from a tecno dealer shop. It’s unfortunate that this is happening during the holidays. I hope to return it and possibly get an exchange or money back. I admit the camera is great, but I think this phone has serious multitasking and crashing problems and should be withdrawn from the market.
I bought one just 5days ago, but it takes a long time to charge and discharges normally.. 4hours charge gives me 73%. So disappointed and it also hangs atimes. Thanks
My problem is whenever i connect the phone to an external speaker or home theatre, and increase the volume of the song or video I’m playing to the highest level, the music automatically stops.. I have to reduce the volume before I can play it smoothly….. Not only that, it has so many problems. But the camera is cool sha.

Tecno C8 has better battery than Phantom Mini, Phantom Mini has better ram,… HTC one has poor battery and becomes very hot at more usage… So i will prefer the Phantom Mini.
there is nothing that you have said that has makes any point to me. The Camon C8 is Tecno’s best product since the inception. All those five features are unrelatable. Who cares about User Community even if it had sef with all the social networking going on who needs it!? Thats the kind of thing Infinix would have. Of all Brands you compared it with Infinix Hot Note!!!?? The Camera of that phone made me feel like puking. Look at the camera quality of Camon C8! check out the user interface. Look at the screen size; the brand name at the top and the navigation keys at the bottom does not take up too much of the touch screen. Unlike infinix that went to put the navigation keys inside the screen..who does that??!! i could write a dozen things i hate about the Infinix Brand(s).

Battery
I own a camon c8 and I think the 3000mah capacity battery is OK… The battery last longer for like 2days of stand by use… about 14hours of 3Gbrowsing and 19hours of 2G….close to 36hours of music with hands-free.
OTA-UPDATE
Have updated my device over the air more than 3times since last December and also looking forward to the marshmallow update.
INTERNAL STORAGE
Even the best professional camera in the world doesn’t come with an internal memory but the Camon c8 provided us with 11gb usable memory…what more do you want.. If you think its not enough support with a memory card.
RAM
The ram is a bit small but what do you expect from a 25k phone and the ram is also manageable.
LACK OF USER COMMUNITY
I laughed when i saw this…so you guys worry about user community when i have more 7 Camon c8 developer group on my whatsapp…and more on nairaland and hovatek..

This review is really really crappy, apparently you’re not rational in your write up. You clearly are a fan of infinix, a company with a grossly unnecessary octacore processor that’ll burn you fingers because of excess generation of heat. Two things you got wrong. The c8 receives its and has proximity sensor. Maybe the build does not accept marshmallow just yet. At the moment mine is andy 5.0.2.
Nice writeup tho… U should prolly have done another article just to put your time to good use.. Do u know how much loss this article would have cost tecno company? It’s on Google again.. Ago,you could be correct,at thesame time wrong.
Till now,I can’t play some games in ma C8 device(games like pes 2012,latest grandtheft,etc),simply cause I’ve been unable to root it. Have taken it to many phone boots,yet,they all come out with thesame “we don’t have the version of your phone for its rooting now”. So pls,any that’ve rooted his should give me clues on how the magic works.
Moreso,that of internal memory’s really a hook around the neck. Ma device has begun telling me of non availability of space to accept more data in am device and it’s really infuriating.
Nonetheless,apart from the two observations above,the device’s perfectly a superb and trustworthy machine.

At ayoproxy.my opsson d1 has 1600 MAH LI ION battery and it last for 5 hours with a data connection and 6 and d half hours with no data connection and u said camon c8 has 3000 MAH LI ION battery,imagine how long dat battery will will last it can last up to nineteen hours compared to my opsson d1 and am still managin my opsson d1 with a battery less stronga dan d 1 of camon.think bro
ayo pls. I have really read about this camon c8. I love it until I came across this infinix big x600 but my worry is the camera of c8 compare to that of big 6. am a lover of nice camera and a long lasting battery capacity. pls advice on which one I should buy. thanks.

The only good thing about this phone is the camera. Unless they create a better rom then please get another phone. The device is so laggy while tasking. Better a J7 than a C8.

Lol. I think Ayo prof intends to demote Tecno and promote Infinix. Me sha, I think both devices are cool in their different respects. My phone of 75k is a 3000mAh battery, no one told me not to buy it. Camon receives updates, I think. They are now on Marshmallow platform. The user community is for all Tecno users to gather is bbs.tecno-mobile.com I’m not a owner of c8, but if these are your reasons and I intend to buy the phone now, I would g ahead. Thanks.
Obama take time to check these post date and compare with when Tecno started doing all these things you claim. They called me to ask for more advice and yeah my article helped them a lot. No update at the time this article was published also no such thing as Tecno Spot. Take it or leave it my blog post had a lot of impact on there transformation.

Being a blogger myself and never had a Tecno phone, I thing that this article is not right.
As a blogger who does not want pick a side; you should produce honest criticisms. It’s good to criticize someone or something; but if the criticism is filled with hatred of the criticized thing, you might end up being too mean.
Why ?
First of all, you used another brand’s phone for instance: Infinix Zero 2 and/or Hot Note Pro. You assumed in all the fives reasons that these devices were a [better] choice. One might think that you have even been payed by Infinix Mobility to write this article.
Secondly, you seemed to have wrote the article without having the device on hand. I’m sorry, but this is wrong. Think about it. It’s like saying that Nigeria is a better place than Ghana without visiting both countries
If you must criticize a product, try not to use just another brand’s product all the way. Otherwise, you might end up choosing a side. You could have used other devices from other similar brands for your comparison such as Injoo, Itel, Accent (Morocco) etc.
Your only accurate (no offence btw) reason not to buy the phone was the low ram one. I do agree with you that a device with this configuration or class should have at least 1,5GB RAM. About the battery, it depends on what you do with your device. I had an Infinix HOT 2 with just 2200mAh; it could handle my everyday tasks.
For your information, Infinix and Tecno are (somehow) the same thing. The hardware components are provided by the same Chinese providers and even software is provided by the same provider. For instance, the Infinix Note 2 hardware is h532; the Tecno C8 hardware is h352. Coincidence ? I think not! The software: XUI (currently XOS) is roughly HiOS. It’s just a matter of renaming. You can put XUI themes on HiOS and they will work! The kernel is build by rlk (Reallytek, a chinese software development group) for most of current Infinix and Tecno phones (including the Note 2, Camon C5 & C8).
And at last, try not to force people to like your articles before they can read them. Not all of your readers use Facebook! You might end up penalizing them.
